Simple Stories!!

Memory Works Simple Stories on KSL Studio 5

I wanted to share the good news that Amber Crowell, owner of Memory Works, had a segment today on a local NBC Utah network KSL Studio 5 where she showcased our new Simple Stories system and products! She highlighted a mini 2-up family album she created, as well as the 12x12 album that our guest designer Brenda Hurd designed and the a little 4x4 mini-album that Wendy Morris created!!

You can check out the transcript here and watch the video below.

Sweet Little Treat!!

Greenbean over at the Cricut Message boards has had me waking with visions of the sweetest sock cupcakes dancing in my head!  This chocolate cupcake was cut from Basic Grey Indian Summer - Acorn paper. The cherry is a piece of ribbon tied in knots and tucked down in between the rolls of the socks.

After cutting the wrapper, I ran it through my crimper to give it the look and feel of a real cupcake paper!

I used My Cricut to cut the pink Prism Cardstock envelope.  The middle of the circle tag on the card was created in print shop and cut with my fiskars 2" circular punch.  I cut a 3" flower cut from Accent Essentials.  I used Prism Cardstock for the base of the card, pink & brown cupcake paper was cut from Doodlebug's cherry chocolate dot and the frosting is white Prism cardstock. I embossed the frosting! (it's hard to see in the photo) Pink button is from BoBunny.

Here's the finished gift!

I will post the SCAL files for the cupcake wrapper, card and envie as soon as I figure out where the file went, how to find it and how to upload it! :)  Newbie to Blogging, Cricut, and SCAL...3 strikes in Baseball isn't a good thing..... I'm hopeful that I'll get it posted! Stay tuned! :)  Enjoy your evening! ~Rhonda

WHOOHOO! I think I figured out how to share the SCAL files!

For the Love of Sharing Recipes!

What a way to share treasured recipes!!

Recipe Folio Set
Folio & 4 Recipe Cards

I absolutely love the way Bo-Bunny's Kitchen Spice Theme Set came together with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Recipe Folio and Recipe Digital Stamp set to create this recipe folio!

Recipe Folio

Lindsay's template was so easy to resize and cut for this folio and card set!  I used Design Studio and my Cricut Expression to cut the folio.

For the layered scalloped circle, I used my cricut & Accent Essentials to cut 3" and 2.5" scallop borders from Bo-Bunny's Kitchen Spice Set. I printed the 'from my heart ~ from my kitchen' circular digi stamp on Basic Grey's -Happy (pink), and used my new Fiscar's 2" circular squeeze punch to cut! Wow! Talk about perfection! LOVE that punch!   (copy and paste this link to find it!!) http://thisoldbarn.memory-works.com/index.mhtml?page=product_search_results&method=main&sp=1&category=product&search_text=PUNCH&search_column=&advanced_search=&view_page=2

I resized the Heart with buttons using Corel Photoshop II, printed and colored the buttons with  markers then popped it from the inner circle for added dimension.

I printed the recipe cards on Basic Grey's Designer Cardstock. I used the pink paper from the 'Happy' Set -- I absolutely love the way digi stamps print on this paper!  I inked the edges of the recipe cards with Color Box Fluid Chalk inkpad - Creamy Brown - WOW...Love that ColorBox Fluid Chalk!! ......So SMOOTH and CREAMY!!!

Here's backside view of the recipe cards!

Here's a link to Linday's Stamp Stuff Recipe folio over at Grafico... http://www.mygrafico.com/digital-stamps/recipe-digital-stamp-set/prod_1434.html  and a link to Bo-Bunny's Kitchen Spice Theme set. http://thisoldbarn.memory-works.com/index.mhtml?sp=1&category=product&page=product_display&product_category_id=325&product_id=3935

Thanks Bo-Bunny and Linday!! You sure brighten my days!  ~Rhonda

So as usual, I surfed and surfed and surfed until my hearts content.  I finally decided to put together a stand-up Butterfly kisses card.   I will attempt to upload directions later this week!  Here's the Butterfly Kisses Card! Paper, Paper, and More Paper!!!

Along with the snowy frigid weather comes the desire to scrap til my heart's content.... I've been working on a set of bear cards, all occasion friendship cards and an adorable set of purses the past week!  I don't really have a favorite out of the three, but really enjoy starting with blank paper and ending up with a unique creation!  My inspiration for the bear cards was a memory of one of my son's favorite teddy bears... I used design studio to design the bear and let my cricut do the cutting work for me!  Wow!  What a machine! I'm unsure how I ever lived without it!!  The purses were alot of fun! I used prisms card stock and desgined the lettering my paint shop pro to print the X's, and O's and Be My Valentine on the papers before the cricut cut them   out!  Back to the drawing board for the next project!  Hope to see you later this afternoon!  Enjoy your day! ~Rhonda at This Old Barn
