On to the rest of the weekend!
As I'm sitting in my studio bright and early this morning... Coffee on the back burner, Cricut on the front..when my phone rang....I instantly thought, "Who in the world is calling at 8:15 on a Saturday morning"...I picked up the phone, seen some strange area code and thought NOW what salesman got ahold of my number...I  let it ring...

Soon the music played and alerted me I had a new message...I couldn't wait to see what the salesman had to say!  Ha ha!!  ....Well, it wasn't a salesman...it was my SON, and I was sitting right there!

Tyler, my oldest son graduated from Navy Boot Camp!  Congratulations Tyler!  He's off to San Antonio, Texas for more training, then home for 2 weeks.  Couldn't resist sharing a picture of Laura & Tyler after his ceramonies....

He did call back as they were on their way to the Rain Forest Cafe in Chicago, so had a great chat...which of course gave me a tad bit of inspiration for the day!

Stop back tomorrow to see my take on the awesome expandable keepsake photo box created by Marion at a piece of craft dot com !  WOW! What fun this is to make! You have to try it!!  Thank you Marion for sharing this awesome tutorial!

Simple Stories Blog Hop - Get Blog Candy Here!!

Simple Stories Blog Hop is underway...

Leave a comment & follow This Old Barn's Blog and your name will be entered to win a $20 gift certificate to use in my Memory Works store!!   Drawing will be held on 3/6/2010

Since my grandchildren are the inspiration for many of my creations, I chose to scrap Aaron, Sammie, and Hailey for the Hop!  Come on along. . .

Meet Aaron and his buddy Grant!

This page took about 20 minutes to pull together! (absolutely GUILT FREE scrapbooking! -- by creating one page I'm half way done with another page since the papers are doublesided!!)

I absolutely love printing on prism cardstock!
Bo Jackson's quote reminds me of Aaron!
His love for sports is deep! Just like his mom, dad & uncle Ty's.

Here's Sammie!!

Again, about 20 minutes to pull Sammie's page together!

I love the stickers that come in the Simple Stories Life Documented kit!!   I had so much fun with them!

I used the downloadable files that came with the Simple Stories kit for the background paper.  The colors pulled beautifully into 'Sammie i am iam' print!

And here's Hailey!

Hailey's page took a little bit longer...

I wanted the swirls to frame this picture, so using my tiny paper-piecing scissors, I ever-so-carefully cut and inked around the swirls!

Check back often!!!  I'm now not only obsessed with scrapbooking...I'm obsessed with Simple Stories!!!
